About Me

Hey there! I’m Livia Sara, but you can call me Liv :)

I’m an autistic author and eating disorder recovery coach that helps neurodivergent individuals and caregivers rebuild trust, discover their true selves, and create a life of freedom beyond the ED.

I myself am fully recovered from anorexia nervosa as an autistic person, so I deeply understand the complex intersection of autism and eating disorders, including existential angst, sensory sensitivities, and the desperate need for predictability in a chaotic world.

For years, I bounced around eating disorder treatment centers like a pinball, receiving ever more discouraging labels including “too complex,” “hopeless,” “treatment-resistant,” and “non-compliant.” But the true problem wasn’t me. The true problem was that clinicians didn’t recognize autism, let alone how to accommodate it!

After countless failed treatments, I was eventually given up on by the healthcare system and told I would just have to “manage” an eating disorder forever. Yet my strong-willed, intuitive, creatively gifted self always knew this couldn’t be the end of my story; and it doesn’t have to be the end of yours, either.

By discovering – and more importantly, embracing – my neurodivergence, I was able to create a life of meaning and purpose I never thought possible. Now, I’m here to help YOU do the same. So whether you’re here as an individual or caregiver, whether you’ve been struggling for months or years, welcome home. Here’s to turning every MESS into a MESSage!
